A Tibetan nomad milking a yak in Gansu Province, China. Since the early 1990s, China has sought to destroy the way of life of the nomads for whom raising yaks and other livestock has been a way of life for centuries. Tibetan nomads use their intimate knowledge of the landscape across the Tibetan plateau to find the best grazing for their animals with special adaptation to high altitudes. I took this photo in 2011 and to my knowledge, part of these areas have been now handed over to mining and damming companies with devastating consequences for the nomadic communities. . . . . . #tibet #sichuan #lifeofadventure #letsgosomewhere #travelgram #travelportrait #china #instalike #people #photoinspiration #johnquintero #nikoneurope  #capturetomorrow #121clicks #yourshotphotographer #asia #travel #travelphotography #yourshotphotographer #nikonasia #nikon @nikonuknordic #travelblogger@nikonproeurope #passportready @natgeotravel #everydayasia #wanderlusmag #reportagespotlight
