We’ve got this! When I was pregnant loads of people told me we don’t “get our bodies back” It’s a weird phrase because our bodies don’t go anywhere ? they just change to grow our baby. Stretch marks, extra cellulite (because over 80% of woman have cellulite anyway) And loose skin sometimes happen after a baby. Some woman get them, some don’t. I avoided stretch marks (as did my mum & sister) but I’m in the cellulite gang for sure! If anyone tries to make you feel bad about something so natural they need to have a long hard look at themselves! It’s an immature, pathetic mindset to have. Let me tell you this, Having a baby doesn’t “ruin your body” Bad habits, too much processed foods and no exercise will do that whether you’ve had a baby or not. We’re all in control over what we choose to eat and if we make time for ourselves to exercise. It can be hard, extremely hard sometimes because life is busy and everyone’s circumstances are different, but it’s not impossible. Im fortunate to have my gym at home, the 10 yrs I trained without it I was up at 4am to train before driving to work or I was in @upfitnesslive with Evil Steve on the weekends when I was off. With Gorka home now I can train in the day, but once “normality” resumes & he’s away, it’ll be my 4am alarm again as that’s the only hour I have to do it. I choose to do it because mentally it gets me through the day, it energises me & makes me feel happy. I can’t sit and moan about the results I didn’t get & the bad mood I’m in from the work I didn’t do. To the expectant mums who msg me with concerns for after pregnancy, don’t let the “you’ll struggle after a baby and your body will be ruined” gang get in your head! Your body reacts to how you treat it, mentally and physically. Fuel it right, move when you can. You don’t need to “train like an athlete” Mia is almost 11months, there’s no rush. Do what you can, make smart choices for yourself. You’ve got this ????
